Emily Dickinson

Portrait of American poet Emily Dickinson

Mother’s Day Sunday in Mid May with flowers everywhere! Happy Mother’s Day to all who nurture!

Here’s a poem by American poet Emily (December 10, 1830 – May 15, 1886), widely considered to be one of the leading 19th-century American poets.

May-Flower

Pink, small, and punctual,
Aromatic, low,
Covert in April,
Candid in May,

Dear to the moss,
Known by the knoll,
Next to the robin
In every human soul.

Bold little beauty,
Bedecked with thee,
Nature forswears
Antiquity.
